30 Weeks Pregnant with Abigail

As we know Abigail Grace is bigger than the average baby at this stage in pregnancy. At 30 weeks she should weigh approximately 3 pounds and will measure about 14 to 17 inches in length, but we know she is bigger than this due to our previous ultrasound. I have noticed for a while now that Abby has a distinct sleeping pattern. The sleeping cycle that she has developed now will most likely be her sleeping pattern after she is born. At this stage in development most babies have grown so big that there is very little room in the uterus for them to move, but Abigail still stretches, moves, and turns a bit. I love feeling her move, but due to the lack of extra room her movements can startle and cause a bit of discomfort.

At this stage in Abigail's development her brain is developing at a fast rate. The brain will start training the eyes for opening and closing and the lungs are trained for breathing. She has fully grown eyelashes and eyebrows, we hope they take after me in size and Emma in color. During these last few weeks she is still gaining baby fat to help prepare for birth and has a fully developed digestive tract and the lungs are mature.

As for me I am a bit tired, scatter-brained, my hands have started swelling in hotter temperatures, and sleeping comfortable is just a dream due to muscle spasms in my calf muscles. My appetite has increased a little, I am thirsty all of the time, and my cravings have been for anything that taste like peanut butter.
