Emma 100% healthy and the doctor said she is doing wonderful.
She had to have 4 shots, 2 in each leg and take some oral medication.
She is now 20 lbs and 27 3/4 inches long.
She is enjoying the sound of her voice and loves playing in her exersaucer.

God Bless Haiti
From our family to the many people in Haiti our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May the Lord lift you up in your time of need and give you the strength to move forward in life.
I encourage all of our friends and family to think about them and to ask yourself what you can do to help them.
We are donating to the Red Cross on the behalf of our daughter Emma. There are so many children that are orphans and the same age as Emma that it breaks my heart.

Emma's Tubes
Emma got tubes in her ears this morning at 7am. The procedure only lasted 8 minutes, and went without any problems. Emma was cranky and hungry after the surgery (since she could not eat anything after midnight,) and after she had her bottle she took a long nap. She ate again afterward and has been in a wonderful mood all day! It doesn't appear she is having any pain or realize the tubes were even put in!

6 Months Old
Well... we just returned home from the A&M ladies basketball game and Emma had a ton of fun. She likes to watch the game, talk with Mommy and Daddy, as well as dance to the music. She sat up in the seat between us for the 1st time and of course took some cat naps on both of us.
The time keeps flying by, but we are loving and savoring every minute we can together with our baby girl. Emma is definitely a Daddy's girl, she wants him when she is frustrated and prefers for him to get her ready for bed. She loves playing with Mommy during bath time and eats for me better than she does Daddy.
We noticed today that she is as big as some 9 to 12 month old babies that we know of, but that is not anything new or unexpected for us. What we are doing is constantly buying clothing for her to sleep in. Due to her length she no longer fits Gerber 6-9 month clothing she is in the 9-12 months for Gerber. We realize that Carter is better for our Emma and more accurate for her size and age, plus they do not shrink as bad as the Gerber clothing tends to after even one wash.
Well we are hitting the bed and hope that Emma gets a good nights sleep. We will post pictures of her tomorrow!
Poor Baby
As everyone knows Emma has had some issues with her ears. They started on Halloween and have been ongoing since then. Emma has had 4 ear infections and fluid in her ears off and on. This has resulted in her being on antibiotics, not sleeping through the night, having a runny nose, fluid not draining, and clogged tear ducts. We have consulted with an ENT twice and Monday Ray took her for another checkup with our ENT, he decided that our Emma needs tubes.
Emma will have the procedure at 7:00 a.m. this Friday. We are a little apprehensive as any parent would be when their child has to have surgery, but we are confident in her doctor's abilities. We hope that the tubes will resolve her ear issues and allow her to sleep through the night.
We will post again on Friday after the procedure to let everyone know how she is doing. We want to thank all of our friends and family who have given us their guidance and support.

Sorry we could not be there in person to help you celebrate your special day.
We sent you a birthday card with a gift card inside, hope you enjoy the shopping! We called and left a message this morning and sent you a text.
Maybe we can get together one day soon. Until then take care and remember that we love you.

Happy Birthday Brandie
Today is Brandie's 29th birthday! Emma and I want to let her know how much we love here and appreciate all she does for us. There has been a lot of change this year, with the happy addition of our bundle of joy, and we will make sure this year is as happy for Brandie as last year was!
While Brandie enjoyed the flowers and other gifts she received today, her main present will be ready in a few days:
Brandie's will look like this, but with diamonds and rubies!

Home Today
Well today should be my 1st day back at work so I can continue to enlighten young minds and help to shape them into the ideal citizen : ) yet I am here typing this message to my friends and family.
Where should I start....
Our neighbor across the street has a son about three months older than Emma and they attend the same daycare. She came over last night to inform us that our daycare would be closed on Monday due to the family getting into 2 car accidents in a 24 hour period. Our sitter called later that night and explained everything to us and that daycare would be open on Tuesday. Thank God they are all fine, but as we continued to put away our Christmas decoration we discussed who would be taking the day to stay home with Emma and decided that Ray would be the one to stay home. Well he is here, but so am I.
11:00 p.m. last night my wonderful husband was hit with a nasty virus that kept him up until 4:00 a.m. this morning and that is when I decided to call in for the day. As Ray is finally drained and ready to go to sleep our sweet girl wakes up wanting our attention and who does she call for DaaDaa! Emma has been saying Dad for about a month to two months off and on, it really comes when she is frustrated on wanting out of the crib. Still waiting for Mommy any day now... So Ray changes her and I feed her, get her to sleep and back in the crib. No sooner than I lay her down her eyes open and she wants out. Now I have the two most important people in my life resting and hopefully getting better.
P.S. I have now realized that any major chore like Christmas decorations is now a 3 day event when you have a baby who is cutting teeth.

Happy New Year
We were blessed in 2009 with our daughter Emma. This past year has been wonderful for us. We ended 2008 pregnant and welcomed 2009 with all the preparation and excitement as we got ready to welcome Emma into the world. There is no telling the blessings that await us in 2010; with God's guidance and grace anything is possible.
We wish all of our friends and family a Happy New Year!
May all of your dreams come true, your fortune increase, and your health stay strong.
* If you notice the time on this post, Emma woke up to wish us Happy New Year and needed a snack : )
