Fun at the Park

Happy Birthday Zeth

Today we celebrated Zeth's 11th Birthday with a small party at our house.  We ate an early dinner, opened gifts, and ate cake with Zeth and the cousins.  Happy Birthday Zeth, hope you had a great one!

Go Texan Day

Friday the girls got dressed up for Go Texan Day at school.  My little cowgirls were complimented all day long!

PROUD AUNT

We went to Beaumont and visited with my family. The girls had a great time with their cousins and had a some tasty snacks and great cake made by their Memaw!

But the best thing from the weekend was finding out that my nephew Julius is doing super awesome in school. The last two years he has been talking about going to college for engineering and has even been on a robotics team in his high school. For the past three years is he has been taking Pre-AP and AP courses and he has done extremely well in all of his courses. He is currently ranked 24 out of 338 students and is in the top 7% of his graduating class. We are so proud of all of his hard work and focus on academics.

Of course we will be scheduling a tour of A&M soon and helping him fill out his applications in August.

Valentine's Day

Brandie and the girls got some treats this Valentine's Day.  The girls got some movies, toys, and a little candy.  Brandie got a chocolate rose, a card, and tickets to see Hozier and Imagine Dragons.  I was told I did well!

Chef Emma

Emma went to a cooking class her Kindergarten teacher holds periodically and got some hands on experience in making some delicious treats!  She came home with some white chocolate bark, red velvet whoopie pies, a bag of sweet trail mix, and a strawberry cheesecake!  In the class they learned about measuring out items and how the ingredients react when combined together.  She had a great time and was proud of her finished products!

100 Days of School

For the 100th day of school, Emma was tasked with wearing something with 100 items of her choosing on it.  She went to Hobby Lobby with Brandie and Abby to look for things, and decided she wanted flowers and rhinestones in the shape of a star.  Of course, Abby wanted the same thing, but in the shape of a heart.  We put everything together using a strong glue, and the shirts ended up very cute!  There was one problem, however.  The fumes from the glue never went away, meaning they could not wear them to school.  Thus, the night before, we had to come up with a plan B.  A local clothing store was able to make Emma a 100 days shirt, but it didn't have 100 items on it.  I was in Wal Mart trying to figure out a solution, and came across the bead section.  I bought a couple of 50 piece packs and some wire and brought it home.  We beaded two bracelets and a necklace, and she was very happy with the results!

Super Bowl

Our girls rocking their outfits for Super Bowl fun at Poppa's house. As you can see Abby grace has her glasses and tiara on as always. We had a lovely time with family, ate some really tasty food prepared by Eric, and Poppa's team won.

Some Bonus Christmas Memories

The girls love working on puzzles.

Playing in the new princess tent from Godfather Richard Mendez.

Abigail Grace rocking out in her own unique style to keep warm before bedtime.

As I went through some pictures on our camera I came across these three and felt the need to share since they brought a smile to my face, warmth to my heart, and joy to my soul. My girls really enjoyed Christmas. Emma will still request Jingle Bells to be played in the car or van as we are driving some place. Abby will ask about her Christmas tree and when can she have it back. We love that they loved the Christmas season and are still keeping it with them in little ways.
