28 Weeks Pregnant with Abigail

We feel blessed and so very excited to say that we are 28 weeks pregnant today! We are now entering our third trimester and have 78 days to go until delivery day. We are now focused on getting things organized and ready around the house.

At this point in the pregnancy Abigail has settled into the proper position for birth, with her head down, which was noticed at our 27 week ultrasound. Abigail is close to 3 pounds and 16 inches long or a little longer. Abby is currently busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive repertoire of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, stretching, playing patty cake, and taking practice breaths. For a while now I have noticed that Abigail is already awake and active every four hours, so she is establishing a bit of a sleep pattern. Along with this she is now experiencing REM (rapid eye movement) phase while sleeping — and that means she could be dreaming already. It is a mystery to what she could dream about, but Ray is sure its all about him.

We look forward to future appointments, tracking her growth, and deciding on what her coming home outfit will be. Based off of her growth we know we should not go with a newborn sized outfit.
