Decorating the Tree

Decorating the tree is a family project. We all had a wonderful time decorating the tree and other areas of the house. We talked about Christmas past and drank hot chocolate. We will post pictures of the finished product soon.

Trimming the Christmas Tree

Once we got the Christmas tree home from the Knights of Columbus tree farm, we realized that they did not trim the bottom enough to meet our needs.  It would not fit on the tree stand, and then there were low hanging branches that would prevent the girls from seeing the train under the tree.  I remembered the hacksaw I bought a couple of years ago was in the shed, so to work I went.  It ended up being a very nice tree when we were done!

My Christmas Painting

Christmas Gifts from CBJ Students

I have been blessed this year to teach some truly wonderful 7th grade students. They showered me with gifts for Christmas before we left for Christmas break. I want to say that they have touched my heart and I will always cherish my memories we made in the fall semester of 2013. I look forward to seeing them next school year in the 8th grade.

College Day at CBJ

I am an Aggie and so proud to represent Texas A&M University. I decorated my door with some of my tokens from the Aggie events I attended while in Aggieland. Every chance I get I spread the word of Aggieland to all who will listen and encourage all of my students to attend college. I share my perspective and experiences, encouraging my students to strive for their dream of attending a wonderful university as I did so they too can make those wonderful memories.

Painting with Friends

I have seen many people posting about this activity for a while on Facebook. I have always wanted to try it and I got the opportunity to do it : ) This was my second time getting to paint and I really enjoy it. I went with a group of friends from work to celebrate the upcoming marriage of Shaw. We had a blast and I was able to create a painting for a Christmas gift for my mom. I am better at the painting and drawing of images rather than the words... but I am sure my mom will love it.

Abby Selfies

Abby Grace is super tech savvy.... she can turn on our phones, iPad, Kindles, etc... She is capable of selecting her own apps, turning them on, running the games, movies, etc... and turning them off all on her own. She even blocked several peoples numbers on my cell phone and we just figured that out last week! She truly loves technology and goes for a computer or anything electronic whenever and wherever she is. She really does take after Ray with the love of technology.

Abby Gymnastics

Abby is still enjoying her gymnastics classes on Saturday with her Dad. She has been growing in leaps and bounds. At times she would rather do her own thing than follow the routine of her class, but she has improved over the last several months and is even doing forward and backward rolls off of her bed!
